Manager & CEO

Hoya Federal Credit Union seeks candidate for its Manager & CEO position.  The successful candidate for this position will have experience in managing small to mid-sized financial institutions, preferably credit unions, and possess a deep appreciation for the mission and values of Hoya Federal Credit Union.  This individual will appreciate the intimate environment of a small credit union that is service-oriented and supportive of its membership.  Knowledge of the credit union environment is key as well as the ability to understand and support the key components of its staffing model (management, member service, collections, loans, and accounting).

Position Responsibilities

Some duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that the credit union is in compliance with the federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies, inclusive of site visit and audit activities
  • Develop and oversee a budget for the credit union that is consistent with the overall strategic plan
  • Issue management reports to the Board including monthly financial statements, with variance reports, and a summary of loan activity, delinquencies, collection status, and investment performance
  • Work with examiners, auditors and other outside evaluation agencies in providing information needed to measure the practices and performance of the credit union

Accountant

Hoya Federal Credit Union seeks candidate for its Accounting position. The chosen applicant will be responsible for the financial affairs of the credit union, including performing, overseeing and directing accounting functions such as general ledger, accounts payable, fixed asset, cost accounting, and the preparation of periodic reports, reviews and reconciliation of data.  In addition, this individual will be responsible for the oversight and analysis in the areas of asset-liability, liquidity strategies, cash management, investment functions, financial reporting, and interest rate risk, and will also play an active role in budget development and strategic planning.  The starting salary for this position is in mid $50K and will be based on experience.

Position Responsibilities

Some duties and responsibilities include:

• Performs the preparation of daily, monthly, annual, and other periodic financial statements and reports. Ensures that external document submissions and filings are accurate and timely.

• Coordinates the annual audit and regulatory exam. Ensures that accounting records and reports are in compliance with GAAP and government regulations. Cooperates with and assists external auditors and regulators as appropriate

• Performs the preparation of regulatory and governmental reports.  Reviews financial information needed to ensure an accurate statement of the Credit Union’s financial position to various regulatory agencies.

• Completes reports and analyses of departmental and area operations as requested by Senior Management. Conducts cost analysis, ratio and trend analysis, and other comparative examinations as appropriate.

• Researches and resolves accounting errors and discrepancies.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, 3 to 5 years of financial institution accounting experience, and demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, credit union regulations, and financial reporting.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook, PowerPoint is a plus) and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Experience with Galaxy Plus operating system and/or Wisdom is also a plus..
